Fire Burns Four Buildings in Cilandak Barat

Some 65 personnel from South Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency (Gulkarmat) managed to extinguish the fire on Jalan Persatuan, RT 06/09, Cilandak Barat Urban Village, Cilandak Sub-district.

South Jakarta Gulkarmat Su-agency Head, Syamsul Huda said the fire incident occurred at around 8.05 PM.

"After receiving the report, we immediately send 22 fire trucks and 65 firefighters to the scene," he expressed, Wednesday (10/23).

He explained the fire that was triggered by an electrical short circuit and it was extinguished completely at 9.34 PM. No casualties or fatalities in the incident.

"Fire burns four houses occupied by four family heads with 12 people," he explained.

Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Head, Isnawa Adji added basic needs assistance was immediately distributed to fire survivors.

"We provide assistance according to the data provided by the environmental and sub-district administrators," he explained.

He detailed the assistance that had been provided, namely, four boxes of mineral water, 20 packages of ready-to-eat food, 10 blankets, four prayer robes, three sarongs, 10 family kits, 10 clothing packages, and four packages of kids ware.

"We also provided assistance in the form of four tarpaulin sheets and 10 mattresses," he explained.

He hoped that the assistance provided could ease the burden on fire survivors in conducting their daily lives after the fire that destroyed their houses.

"In the next few days, we will also have officers on standby at the location to accompany fire survivors," he closed.
